
Prior to Injections:
• Wear or bring shorts on the
day of injections.
• Avoid aspirin or anti-inflammatory
medicines such as Naprosyn, Motrin
or Advil (Ibuprofen) for one week
prior to injections; use Tylenol
(Acetaminophen) instead.
• Obtain stockings to use after
the injections,
prior to the planned date of treatment.
• Expect bruising after the injections
and therefore do not plan events or activities,
which
may require use of shorts for probably
4-6 weeks after the injections, as residual
bruising may still be present.

After
Injections:
• Expect some redness and
itching in the area
of the injected veins for 1-3 days; you may
use Benadryl cream or pills to help with the
itching; should the redness or swelling
become generalized, contact your doctor.
• Expect some
bruising for 2-4 weeks.
• Expect some
blue lines representing the
clotted injected veins for 4-8 weeks.
• Plan on wearing
the compression stockings
daily for two weeks after injections.
• Plan on wearing your stockings
overnight
the first night of injections.
